OpenAI president Greg Brockman said the company could be ready for an initial public offering in 2027, speaking at a Wall Street Journal tech conference, TechCrunch reports.
Asked if OpenAI would be IPO-ready next year, he replied that he thought so, citing strong progress and rising enterprise revenue after a rough first half of 2026. He said enterprise now accounts for most revenue, up from about 30 percent, with annualised revenue up 70 percent in the third quarter as that segment doubled.
Brockman admitted OpenAI lagged Anthropic in agentic coding earlier in the year with Codex little noticed, but said the firm kept executing. Consumer revenue is still growing, he added, just more slowly than enterprise.
