Editorial approach

Kilwhiss News brings together short world-news summaries and practical explainers from a Scottish perspective. Readers should be able to distinguish the original reporting, our interpretation and the commercial interests behind this publication.

News summaries and original reporting

Our regional coverage summarises reporting from other publishers and links to the source. A source-linked summary is not independent confirmation of an event. Where a story depends on one publisher, readers should treat it as that publisher’s account and follow the link for the full context. Claims, allegations and uncertainty should remain attributed.

The regional feeds aim to refresh hourly. Updates can be delayed, and some regions publish fewer stories. Dates on this site show when a summary was published here; the underlying report or event may be older. An update should identify what has changed rather than imply a wholly new event.

AI assistance and editorial judgement

AI tools assist with preparing content, including summaries and explainers. AI can misread a source, omit context or produce an incorrect statement. We do not claim that every item has been independently verified by a human journalist. Important claims should be checked against the linked reporting and, where available, primary sources.

An “Editor’s pick” is a deliberately selected feature or story, rather than an automatic claim that the newest item is the most important. Explainers and commentary present practical interpretation and should be distinguished from news reporting. Our own examples and recommendations are identified as such.

Corrections

Report a possible error to hello@kilwhiss.news, with the article address, the disputed statement and a supporting source. Our policy is to mark substantive corrections on the affected article with a dated note explaining the change. A change to the source report may also require a summary to be updated.

Pictures and attribution

A photograph of a place, workspace or piece of equipment may illustrate a topic without depicting the reported event. Such images should be labelled as illustrative and credited. A source link does not grant permission to reuse the source publisher’s photography. Image credits identify the photographer, source and licence where applicable; an image must not imply that an unrelated person or place was involved in an event.

Ownership and commercial interests

Kilwhiss News is part of Kilwhiss Group, whose businesses include technology, training, AI and hosting services. Coverage of those businesses should disclose that connection. Sponsored or paid material, if introduced, should be clearly labelled. External source links do not imply endorsement of Kilwhiss by those organisations.
