Wonder, the food delivery and restaurant start-up founded by Marc Lore, has confidentially filed for a stock market listing, the company said on Thursday, CNBC reports.
The business began in 2018 with plans for vans fitted with mobile kitchens but now has about 170 US sites serving dishes from more than two dozen restaurant brands through its own app. It has spent at least $1bn buying companies including Grubhub, Blue Apron and Relay, backed by more than $3bn of venture funding, and its latest round valued it at $9bn before the new money.
From 17 November a scheme called Wonder Create will let influencers and brands pay $10 a month to run restaurant concepts from its locations. CNBC noted restaurant stocks have been hit by weak consumer sentiment and the IPO market has been shaky.
