Alaska US Senate race between Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan and Democrat Mary Peltola remained unsettled on Wednesday as counting continued, Alaska News Source reports.
Election night swung both ways, with Sullivan briefly ahead before Peltola edged into a small lead by Wednesday morning. Sullivan told supporters the contrast between the campaigns was clear and that he would win; Peltola told her crowd they were winning the state back.
Nationally Republicans suffered heavy midterm losses, but Alaska ranked-choice and delayed absentee counting often stretch races for days. Both campaigns were still digesting partial returns as more ballots arrived.
