Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray told his party's annual Dussehra rally in Mumbai on Tuesday that the opposition was working for "regime change" and would bring "good days" once the BJP-led national government was removed, The Hindu reports. The phrase "acche din", meaning good days, was a central BJP slogan in the 2014 general election.
Speaking at Shivaji Park on the 60th anniversary of the rally, first addressed by party founder Bal Thackeray in 1966, the former Maharashtra chief minister defended young people's right to protest and said they were revolutionaries rather than Naxalites. He accused the BJP, his former ally, of maligning Hindutva and dividing people, and said his party wanted to raise its saffron flag over both the Maharashtra assembly and Delhi's Red Fort.
