Ukrainian forces struck the Avisma titanium works in Berezniki, in Russia's Perm Krai, on Sunday, according to the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+, The Kyiv Independent reports.
The plant, part of the VSMPO-AVISMA group and one of the world's largest producers of titanium sponge, lies more than 1,400km from the Ukrainian border. It has been under US sanctions since 2023 and supplies material used in military aircraft, submarines, armoured vehicles and missiles.
Perm's governor, Dmitry Makhonin, said 11 drones were shot down and that an unnamed industrial site in the north of the region suffered minor damage but kept working; five employees were hurt. Ukraine's General Staff separately reported overnight strikes on radar stations in Belgorod region and command posts in occupied Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. Belgorod's mayor said one person was killed and ten injured there.
