India's weather service has put seven districts of Keralam, from Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam, on yellow alert for isolated heavy showers over the next 24 hours, The Hindu reports.
According to the India Meteorological Department's bulletin on Tuesday, a well-marked low-pressure area over the south-west Arabian Sea is moving away from the coast but is still expected to bring thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds to parts of the state.
Forecasters also expect two low-pressure systems to form in quick succession over the Bay of Bengal, the first within a day and the second by 23 October. Although neither is expected to reach Keralam's coast, they are likely to change wind and moisture patterns enough to bring fairly widespread rain across the state for the next four days.
