Argentina's President Javier Milei arrived in Madrid on Monday night for his third visit to Spain this year, in the middle of the campaign for Spain's snap general election on 29 November, MercoPress reports.
His schedule includes an economics lecture at the Nueva Economía Forum, a meeting with the economist Jesús Huerta de Soto and an appearance at the launch of a master's programme on the Austrian School at Rey Juan Carlos University. He is also due to meet the Vox-linked Disenso Foundation and Madrid's regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. As on earlier trips, no meeting with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is planned.
Milei and Sánchez have been at odds since 2024. The Argentine government says these trips help attract investment in energy and mining, while the opposition questions their cost. The visit ends on Thursday.
