Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE) has unanimously approved rules on when a supporters' online channel counts as part of a political campaign, The Rio Times reports, a week before the presidential run-off on 25 October.
The resolution, drafted by Judge André Mendonça and approved on 16 October, lists signs such as campaign funding, technical support, official promotion or guidance on content, and any single verifiable sign can be enough. Channels found to be linked must register with the electoral authorities and follow the propaganda rules for their platform. The move follows conflicting rulings over a pro-Lula WhatsApp channel run by federal deputy André Janones, which Flávio Bolsonaro's campaign had accused of spreading disinformation. The court has not said whether channels already online will be reviewed.
