A woman who worked with Poland's President, Karol Nawrocki, when he was a security guard at the Grand Hotel in Sopot about 20 years ago has told a court he suggested extra money could be made by bringing women to the hotel, Notes from Poland reports. She said she also saw him escort a woman onto the premises.
The evidence was given in a defamation case Nawrocki brought against the owner of the news site Onet, which reported days before last year's presidential run-off that he had been involved in procuring prostitutes for hotel guests. Nawrocki has called the claims lies, and went on to narrowly beat Rafał Trzaskowski.
Hearings began in September behind closed doors, but Tuesday's session, at which two former colleagues testified, was open to the public. The president is due to appear in court in January.
