Rail travellers heading to and from Heathrow Airport faced severe delays and cancellations on Tuesday morning after an incident on the tracks near Hanwell in west London, GB News reports.
Emergency services were called shortly after 6am to deal with a casualty on the line, and some lines were closed while they worked. Elizabeth line, Heathrow Express and Great Western Railway services between London Paddington, the Heathrow terminals and Reading were affected, with National Rail warning of cancellations or delays of up to an hour and disruption likely to last until at least midday.
Transport for London said tickets were being accepted on the Underground, London buses and several other rail operators. Separately, South Western Railway reported a speed restriction over faulty track between Weybridge and Surbiton.
