The official X account of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad was hacked in the early hours of Monday and used to publish posts promoting a cryptocurrency rewards scheme, The Hindu reports.
From about 1.30am local time, the @RGIAHyd account carried posts advertising an eligibility checker called StonkFun Season 1, tied to the Stonk app, which runs on the Solana blockchain. The posts tagged several other accounts and urged users to check quickly, claiming the offer would only be open for a day.
According to The Hindu, the airport's operator, GMR Hyderabad International Airport, has begun removing the posts, is working to regain control of the account and plans to lodge a cybercrime complaint with police. No official statement had been issued at the time of the report.
