About 280 security companies from 33 countries took part in this week's Milipol Qatar exhibition in Doha, showing drones, robots and artificial intelligence systems as Qatar reviews its defences after the Iran war, Euronews reports.
The three-day event, which ended on Thursday, covered policing, emergency response and industrial safety equipment, with discussions on cyber security and protecting essential services. Organisers said about 70% of exhibitors came from abroad.
Alexandros Lakatamitis of West Bay Petroleum, which showed drones that can search large areas for missing people, said government and business customers were taking security far more seriously.
Earlier in the week Qatar's defence minister, Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, said the country was using lessons from the war to improve protection against ballistic missiles, drones and cyber attacks, and outlined plans for a local defence production hub.
