A 31-year-old woman in Moscow who has eight children has been arrested and charged with financing terrorism, the independent Russian outlet Meduza reports.
Maria Davydova's case was opened in July, when a court authorised her arrest, and she has been placed on Russia's official list of terrorists and extremists. Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported at the time, citing a law enforcement source, that investigators suspect her of sending about 15,000 roubles to the Islamic State group.
Case documents quoted by the state agency TASS on Monday describe her as self-employed and unmarried, with eight dependent children. The charge carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. A military court will hear the case, but no date has been set for the trial to begin.
