Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray says he has taken down a documentary about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani from his social media accounts after the Mumbai Police Commissioner asked him to, The Hindu reports.
Mr Thackeray said the film, made by Hotmail co-founder Sabeer Bhatia, had been viewed more than 4.8 million times on X. He said he had been highlighting the relationship between the two men since January, before Mumbai's municipal elections, and that clips from a presentation he gave then were used in the film and remain online.
In a post on X, he praised the Mumbai and Maharashtra police and said he was simply honouring the commissioner's request. The paper says some MNS figures were surprised, as the documentary had been screened at a party branch on Saturday.
