Russian ballistic missiles struck several parts of Kyiv late on Wednesday, injuring at least six people, the Kyiv Independent reports, citing the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko.
In the Dniprovskyi district, on the city's left bank, a car repair business and private homes were damaged, and Mr Klitschko warned that people could be trapped under rubble. In the neighbouring Darnytskyi district, missiles landed near a transport facility. A resident described windows being blown in and neighbours helping to pull a couple from a burning house.
The strikes followed a Russian drone attack on the capital earlier the same day that killed at least two people, and repeated drone raids on Monday that hit hospitals. They came as both Kyiv and Moscow signalled support for three-way peace talks, and as President Donald Trump said a deal might be closer than ever.
