Two people were killed and two others badly injured when a commercial bus collided with a pickup van on the Adekunle corridor towards Iyana Oworo in Lagos, Premium Times reports, citing the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority. The agency said on Sunday that its staff attended, organised the rescue and secured the road.
The injured man and woman were taken to the General Hospital in Odan, and the bodies were handed to the state's environmental health monitoring unit. The bus driver and both vehicles were passed to Yaba police. LASTMA's general manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, offered condolences and urged motorists to keep to speed limits and keep vehicles roadworthy. The agency recorded 69 road deaths in Lagos in the first three months of the year, according to Radio Nigeria.
