The husband of Uttarakhand's Women and Child Development Minister, Rekha Arya, has accused her of amassing illegal assets worth 210 crore rupees, The Hindu reports. Girdhari Lal Sahu made the claim in a video posted on social media on Saturday and asked Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to order an inquiry.
His allegation followed a police complaint Ms Arya filed on Thursday accusing him of bigamy, assault, caste-based abuse and death threats, and of using forged documents to remove her as a company director. The case includes charges under India's law against atrocities on Scheduled Castes and Tribes. Mr Sahu said an audio recording she shared, which appears to suggest a plot to kill her, was fabricated using AI. Ms Arya was taken to hospital on Friday. The opposition Congress has called for an impartial investigation.
