Prosecutors in Argentina are investigating the killing of three members of one family in Monte Grande, in Greater Buenos Aires, on Tuesday, The Rio Times reports. Police called to a house found a 43-year-old woman and her 11-year-old son dead, and the suspect's 73-year-old mother dead in a neighbouring house on the same plot. A double-barrelled shotgun was found and sent for forensic tests.
The suspect, the woman's 50-year-old partner, died the same morning after a collision with a lorry in nearby Burzaco. Police have classified the case as a triple homicide followed by suicide, although investigators are still examining how he died. Prosecutor Ana Río is leading the inquiry, and autopsy results are awaited. Argentina's free national helpline for people facing violence, 144, is open 24 hours a day.
