A Beijing-based think tank has urged China to study a new Pentagon review of future warfare while avoiding what it sees as the project's weaknesses, including potential conflicts of interest, the South China Morning Post reports. Project Meridian, launched late last month and co-chaired by Elon Musk, aims to identify future battlefield needs and set investment priorities in fields including AI, robotics, autonomous weapons, directed-energy systems and biotechnology. In an analysis published on Friday, the Blue Army Open-Source Intelligence Research Institute said China could learn from the way the project assesses different military domains, brings military and civilian analysts together and links technology development to operational needs.
