Blackwall, a cyber security start-up with Estonian links that filters out malicious bot traffic from websites, has raised €100 million in a round that values it at about $2.2 billion, ERR News reports.
The round was led by the growth investor ABP. Stanislav Ivanov, a founding partner of Tera Ventures, which first invested around $300,000 in the company six years ago, said the deal showed its strategy was working and could bring the fund a strong return, possibly through a future listing or sale.
Blackwall is the second Estonian-linked company to reach unicorn status in two weeks, after Skeleton. Doris Põld, head of the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications, said the country now has 12 unicorns and predicted more would come from deep tech, cyber security and defence. Blackwall did not comment.
