Danske Bank announces third round of job cuts this year

·

Danske Bank is cutting 106 jobs in its third round of redundancies this year, The Local Denmark reports.

About half of the posts are in Denmark, with the rest in Finland, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden. The bank said none of the roles were customer-facing and that all affected staff were told on Thursday. It described the move as part of making the business simpler and more efficient under its strategy running to 2028.

Karsten Breum, the bank's chief people officer, acknowledged that the situation was difficult for those affected and said they would be offered help finding other roles, including internal vacancies and an outplacement programme. Danske Bank, which employs more than 20,000 people, cut 420 jobs in February and a further 262 in May.
