Toronto mayoral race: Pollara survey gives Olivia Chow 11-point lead

·

A new Pollara Strategic Insights poll suggests the Toronto mayor, Olivia Chow, has a clear lead over her main challenger, Brad Bradford, days before Monday's election, Global News reports.

The survey, commissioned by the city workers' union CUPE Local 416, put Chow on 55% and Bradford on 44% among decided voters, including those who had already voted in advance polls. Chow also led on affordability, safety, taxes and working with other levels of government.

Other recent polls point to a much closer race. A Liaison Strategies survey released on Wednesday had Bradford ahead by 49% to 47%, and Mainstreet Research also gave him a narrow edge earlier in the week. Chow is seeking her first full term after winning the 2023 by-election, while Bradford hopes to become Toronto's sixth mayor since the city was amalgamated in 1998.
