The Estonian Center for Defense Investments has sold the Seli manor complex in Rapla County at auction for €380,000, its starting price, the public broadcaster ERR reports.
The agency took over the property in 2019, when the Seli Health Center was merged into the Estonian Defence Forces. The centre has since moved to Raadi in Tartu, leaving the manor surplus to requirements.
The buyer is Eksfisk, a fish products wholesaler and retailer. Its owner, Maria Peetri, said the company saw the estate as a long-term project and would first assess the buildings' condition and carry out preservation work before deciding on a use. The notarised sale has not yet been completed.
Records of the manor go back to 1474. Its surviving limestone buildings, including the main house and a stable, date from the 18th century.
