Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by three wickets in the final of the one-day international tri-series in Lahore on Saturday, thanks largely to a century from opener Fakhar Zaman, Al Jazeera reports.
Chasing 326, Pakistan lost Maaz Sadaqat and Babar Azam early. Zaman, who had scored only 31 runs in his previous four innings and was nursing a knee injury, made 127 and was dropped three times by Maheesh Theekshana. He shared a stand of 149 with 19-year-old Saad Baig, who scored 74.
Arafat Minhas then hit a quick 61 as Pakistan reached 331 for seven with nine balls left. Sri Lanka's total of 325 for eight was built on 131 from Kamindu Mendis, his first ODI hundred. Dew made the ball hard to grip for the visiting bowlers. England, the third side in the series, had already been eliminated.
