The Kremlin says preparations are under way for a three-way meeting between Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Xi Jinping at this month's Apec summit in Shenzhen, Politico Europe reports. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday there was a shared view among the potential participants that such talks would be useful, and that he hoped arrangements would be settled in the coming days. The summit runs on 18 and 19 November.
Trump has said he would meet the two leaders to discuss nuclear weapons and the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has voiced concern, saying any such meeting should follow talks that include Kyiv and warning against a carve-up of influence like the 1945 Yalta conference. China has not commented publicly on the idea.
