Meta has switched sharing back on in its Muse AI assistant after fixing a problem that made some shared links easy to find, The Verge reports.
Security researchers at Claroc reported this week that the web addresses of shared Muse content were based on conversation titles and appeared in public DNS records. They said they had found pages such as one firm's internal revenue figures and a loan application from the owner of a small business. Meta paused the feature after Ars Technica contacted it.
In a post on X, Meta's David Singleton said the underlying issue was fixed. He said it affected shared artifacts, such as documents and images created in Muse, rather than chat sharing. Artifacts shared before the fix now have new addresses, and anyone visiting an old link will be asked to get the new one from the person who shared it.
