Kwankwaso pledges security, schools and jobs in Jos as Obi misses Plateau town hall

·

Rabiu Kwankwaso, running mate to Peter Obi on the Nigeria Democratic Congress ticket for the 2027 election, has promised that an Obi government would put security, education, farming and jobs first, Premium Times reports.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in Jos, Plateau State, on Friday, the former Kano governor said Mr Obi had phoned to say circumstances beyond his control had stopped him travelling, and that both would return for another visit. He described their pairing as a ticket of national unity.

Mr Kwankwaso criticised what he called leaders' indifference to repeated mass killings by bandits, insurgents and in communal clashes, and said a government unable to protect its citizens should not be re-elected. He pointed to his record on schooling in Kano and promised to revive agriculture and lost industries, without giving detailed plans.
