A Russian drone struck a residential building in Synelnykove, in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, on Saturday, killing three civilians and injuring 12 others, according to regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha, the Kyiv Independent reports.
The strike started a fire on the fourth floor of the apartment block and damaged cars and a nearby shop. An 11-year-old girl is among the injured. Five people were taken to hospital, and several were reported to be in a serious condition and undergoing surgery.
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast borders several front-line regions and is attacked by Russian drones almost daily, with the Synelnykove district particularly exposed because of its proximity to occupied territory. Russia has stepped up air attacks on Ukraine's power grid this month as winter approaches, and thousands of homes in the region lost electricity after strikes on energy infrastructure on 21 October.
