Two of Jeffrey Epstein's closest advisers, his lawyer Darren Indyke and his accountant Richard Kahn, are being sued by the state of New Mexico, whose attorney general Raúl Torrez says they helped enable and hide the financier's abuse, The Guardian reports.
The case, filed in federal court in New Mexico, also names Epstein's estate and the trust holding its assets. It alleges that victims were abused at locations including Epstein's Zorro Ranch in the state, and that associates were rewarded with salaries, gifts and places as beneficiaries of his estate. The state wants a court order stopping the two men from receiving estate payments while the case proceeds.
Lawyers for Indyke and Kahn did not immediately respond. Both men have previously said they knew nothing of Epstein's crimes. Several survivors signed a letter supporting the lawsuit.
