Tuesday's Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona at the Parc des Princes will not be postponed or cancelled despite the wave of violent protests across France, Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu said on Monday, according to Al Jazeera.
Speaking after a crisis meeting, Lecornu said he was determined to restore order and that local, partial curfews were better suited to the situation than a state of emergency, though he did not rule one out. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said there were no plans to call off the game, and Barcelona's squad travelled to Paris on Monday afternoon.
Football clubs have also been hit by the unrest. Marseille said looters caused significant damage to its official shop on La Canebière, and Lille said its city-centre store was badly damaged and looted.
