A court in St Petersburg has ordered exiled journalist Alexander Nevzorov, his wife, son and 83-year-old mother-in-law to be evicted from their former house in Lisy Nos, on the city's northern edge, Meduza reports. The Primorsky District Court sided with Russia's federal property agency, ruling that the family no longer had the right to use the property and cancelling their residence registrations.
The house and land were confiscated by a court in December 2024, which annulled the mother-in-law's 2023 purchase of the property from her daughter. Nevzorov and his wife left Russia after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. He has since been labelled a foreign agent and sentenced in absentia to eight years in prison for spreading supposedly false information about the army, and in 2025 investigators opened a case accusing the couple of financing extremism.
