Sweden's Liberal Party leader Simona Mohamsson has said her party will not help any Social Democrat-led government into office, whether headed by Magdalena Andersson or anyone else, The Local Sweden reports, citing the TT news agency. The statement is a setback for Centre Party leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist, who has been asked by the Speaker of the Riksdag to explore a centrist coalition under Andersson that would include the Liberals.
Andersson has already lost one parliamentary vote for prime minister, and a snap election would follow if three more fail. Mohamsson said the Liberals would vote against her each time and urged the Centre Party to join the centre-right led by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. Thand Ringqvist is meeting all party leaders this week and will report to the Speaker on Monday.
