British cinema chains are laying on extra showings of You Can See Everything, Nathan Fielder's documentary about the disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, a month before it opens in the UK on 20 November, The Guardian reports.
Picturehouse, Cineworld and Vue all describe unusually strong early sales. Picturehouse's creative director, Clare Binns, compared the excitement to the response to Barbie in 2023, and said it was remarkable for a three-hour documentary. Cineworld sold out its first Leicester Square screenings and has extended bookings to 35 more cinemas, while Vue said the film was drawing younger audiences.
Co-directed by Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, the film took about $15m (£11.3m) on its US opening weekend, the biggest start for a documentary in more than two decades. More than 70% of that audience was under 35.
