Sellers on the resale platform Vinted say they have been left out of pocket or had their accounts shut after disputes they felt were decided without proper review, The Guardian reports.
One Oxford seller set up a website to collect complaints after a buyer said a parcel arrived empty, despite her video evidence of posting it; she says more than 6,400 cases have since been submitted. Others described being accused of selling counterfeit goods and losing their accounts, and a reseller said her business had been banned around a dozen times in three years.
Consumer expert Martyn James said automated systems appeared to play a part in handling disputes. Vinted says all appeals are handled by human reviewers. The platform handled goods worth €10.8bn in 2025 and operates in 26 markets.
