Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that halting the fighting along the current front line is the most realistic way to end the war with Russia, Euronews reports.
Speaking to Fox News on Wednesday, as US envoy Steve Witkoff met Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg, Zelensky said Ukraine needed to freeze the conflict and stop, and that this could open the way to ceasefire talks. He said Kyiv was willing to negotiate in any format but must be directly involved, and that any deal needed security guarantees from the United States and European allies.
He also said Ukraine's access to SpaceX's Starshield military network and its civilian Starlink service remained limited, days after Kyiv accused Washington of slowing them. Zelensky said the US secretary of state, Marco Rubio, had promised to work on restoring the services.
