Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has told Washington that Russia is ignoring the energy ceasefire announced by Donald Trump, saying Russian forces have struck Ukrainian power, oil and gas facilities 76 times since it was declared.
Trump announced the truce on 11 October without setting out its scope, and the Kremlin has made no commitment to it. Zelensky said tens of thousands of families were without electricity and accused Moscow of trying to cause blackouts, adding that pressure should fall on Russia rather than Kyiv. Ukraine has said it will observe a full energy truce if Russia does the same. The US administration has meanwhile pressed Kyiv to halt strikes on Russian oil sites, according to the Kyiv Independent.
