Train services in Auckland were cancelled and delayed on Friday morning after a fault with the ventilation system in the City Rail Link tunnel, RNZ reports.
Auckland Transport said the problem was found during checks before services began, and trains were at first unable to run through the CRL. Te Waihorotiu and Karanga-a-Hape stations were closed while the issue was dealt with.
The fault was fixed by about 7.15am and both stations reopened, but the earlier closure left knock-on delays and cancellations on three lines: Onehunga West, East West and South City. Buses were accepting train tickets, and passengers were advised to check the AT Mobile app or station screens for updates. Auckland Transport apologised for the disruption.
