Apple has invited media and analysts to a product launch in Los Angeles on 28 October, with an invitation reading "Pro and tell" that suggests a focus on high-end devices, CNBC reports.
Ben Reitzes of Melius Research said he expects new Macs, including a touchscreen notebook, which would mark a change for a company that has long resisted touchscreen laptops. It will be the third launch event since John Ternus succeeded Tim Cook as chief executive last month, after events for new iPhones, including the foldable Duo, and for smart home products.
Macs make up about 10% of Apple's revenue, but its chips' fast access to large amounts of memory have made them important to the company's AI ambitions. The iMac has not been updated since October 2024.
