Apple has begun beta testing its Audio Intelligence features for the Apple Watch, first offering them to developers in the iOS 27.3 update, TechCrunch reported. Announced at Apple's September hardware event, the four opt-in tools for Series 12 owners detect important sounds such as alarms, identify songs, help users catch up on conversations and take notes.
Live Rewind lets a wearer double-press the digital crown to see a text snippet of the last 15 seconds of speech, signalled to others by a chime and animation, and deleted after 30 seconds unless saved. Siri Recaps summarises conversations in a sentence and bullet points without identifying speakers, keeping raw audio or producing transcripts. Unsaved recaps are deleted within seven days. Apple says the features are designed to protect the privacy of people nearby, amid wider unease about AI devices that record speech.
