Ashley Paul Griffith, the former childcare worker serving a life sentence in Queensland for more than 300 child sexual offences, has been moved to New South Wales to face further charges, 1News reports.
Queensland Corrections Minister Laura Gerber said Griffith was driven from the Wolston Correctional Centre near Brisbane and handed to NSW authorities at Tweed Heads on Wednesday morning. Footage of the transfer released by Queensland Corrective Services showed him publicly for the first time since his arrest in August 2022.
Griffith, 48, was jailed in November 2024 after pleading guilty to offences against nearly 70 victims at Queensland childcare centres. In NSW he faces 202 charges relating to 23 girls at a Sydney childcare centre between 2014 and 2017. An attempt to reduce his Queensland sentence failed in June.
