A jury has convicted a 16-year-old boy of trying to murder a girl, then 15, by knifing her in the back in March at Thorpe St Andrew School near Norwich, GB News reports. A jury at King's Lynn Crown Court reached a majority verdict after almost four hours of deliberation.
The court heard that the boy, who was 15 at the time and cannot be named, arrived at school masked, dressed in black and carrying a kitchen knife, along with handwritten notes expressing hatred of women. Prosecutors said he had an obsessive interest in killers. CCTV showed him running off, chased by a teacher.
The girl suffered a minor injury, which the prosecution described as sheer good fortune. The boy had already admitted possessing a knife and wounding with intent. He will be sentenced on 18 December.
