Two boys aged 16 and 17 have gone on trial over a hand grenade attack on a restaurant in Strømmen, near Oslo, in October 2025, the Norwegian broadcaster NRK reports.
At Romerike and Glåmdal district court on Wednesday, the 16-year-old admitted carrying out the attack, while the 17-year-old said he had negligently contributed to it, including by booking taxis. No one was hurt, but the building was badly damaged and people were inside. Both deny acting on behalf of a criminal network, which prosecutors allege under Norway's organised crime provisions.
The prosecutor declined to name the network. Police have previously said one line of inquiry was the Swedish gang Foxtrot. A restaurant employee told the court, in tears, that she still struggled with anxiety and could not understand why she had been targeted.
