China's Finance Minister Lan Foan has called on members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum to work more closely to support growth, CNA reports.
Speaking at the opening of the APEC finance ministers' meeting in Hong Kong on Tuesday, Mr Lan described the forum as an engine of global growth with greater responsibility at a time of rapid change and fallout from geopolitical conflicts. The 21-member Pacific Rim grouping includes the United States, Japan and Russia.
He urged governments to cooperate on artificial intelligence, the digital economy and green industries, which he said would create new sources of growth. He also said China, the world's second-largest economy, would continue wide-ranging economic reforms, but gave no further details.
