Emily Chancellor, the former captain of Australia's women's rugby union team, has announced she will retire from international rugby after Friday's Test against Scotland at Canberra Stadium, ABC News reports.
The 35-year-old back-rower is expected to win her 42nd cap in the match, eight years after a debut against New Zealand in 2018 in which she was named player of the match. Chancellor took up rugby at university, starting with sevens before moving to the 15-a-side game in 2015. She played at two World Cups, came back from a knee ligament injury in 2024 and became the Wallaroos' 19th captain last year. She told the ABC she still felt physically able to play but was ready for the next stage of her life.
