Harry Kane signs Bayern Munich contract extension to 2029

·

England captain Harry Kane has agreed a new contract with Bayern Munich that runs until June 2029, the German club announced on Thursday, Al Jazeera reports. Kane, 33, said he felt at home in Munich, that his family was happy there and that he wanted to win more trophies with the club.

He moved from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 and has since scored 156 goals in 161 games, winning two Bundesliga titles and the German Cup. Last week he became the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to win the Ballon d'Or. Bayern did not reveal the terms, although German media described the deal as the most lucrative in the club's history. Kane, who sits 47 goals short of Alan Shearer's Premier League scoring record, had said in August that a return to English football no longer held the same appeal.
