Health Canada has recalled the Hamax Buddy child bicycle seat because a label on its harness strap can come loose and could choke a child who puts it in their mouth, CTV News reports.
The recall covers seats with reference numbers 4091054 and 8591602. The seat is made for bicycles without a luggage rack and fits some mountain and hybrid bikes.
Owners are told to stop using the seat and remove the fabric label from the harness strap completely, after which the seat can be used as normal.
The company said 3,218 of the seats were sold in Canada between January 2022 and August 2026, and that it had received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada as of 20 October. Customers can contact Décathlon Canada for more information. Recalled products may not be resold or given away in Canada.
