India have won their Twenty20 international series in New Zealand with two matches to spare after a six-wicket victory in Wellington on Tuesday, Al Jazeera reports, citing AFP.
Chasing New Zealand's 198, India reached their target in just 13.2 overs. Opener Abhishek Sharma scored 113 from 38 balls, including 11 sixes, and shared a stand of 133 in barely seven overs with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who made 45. The pair took 26 runs from Jacob Duffy's first over, and Abhishek was eventually dismissed by Kyle Jamieson.
India captain Shreyas Iyer said he had never seen a team reach 100 in five overs at international level. India won the toss for the third match in a row and chose to bowl, with Arshdeep Singh removing Tim Seifert early. India now lead the five-match series 3-0.
