Nvidia has invested in Simplismart, a Bengaluru-based start-up whose software helps companies run AI models more efficiently, as part of a $14m Series B round, TechCrunch reports.
The round was led by Dallas Venture Capital, with Accel, Shastra VC and Micromax also taking part, and values the four-year-old company at about $100m. Simplismart's software sits between AI models and the hardware they run on, adjusting deployment to balance response speed, volume of requests and computing use, so that customers can get more from the GPUs they already have.
Its chief executive, Amritanshu Jain, said businesses do not need the fastest or cheapest inference, but the right mix for each application. The company says it helped the AI video platform InVideo reduce its GPU serving costs by 56 per cent.
