An investor who lost money when the $LIBRA cryptocurrency collapsed has appealed against a ruling that closed the investigation into Argentina's President, Javier Milei, his sister Karina Milei and nine others, the Buenos Aires Times reports.
Judge Marcelo Martínez de Giorgi agreed last week to the prosecutor's request to dismiss the case, in which none of the 11 had been questioned as suspects. The token soared and then crashed after Milei promoted it on X in February 2025.
In a 40-page appeal, Juan Patricio Marchetto argues that the judge confused a lack of evidence with the absence of a crime. He points to phone records showing calls between Milei and the businessman Mauricio Novelli minutes before the post, and to 87 wallet transactions worth about $13.5m made seconds before Milei shared the purchase code.
